Thread: Some thoughts of mine on Jess

I think Jess could end up being the most highly sought after LE once she's retired. If you think about it, she has a completely different face mold including Asian eyes. Her exact face mold won't work for any other non-Asian doll in the future since the eyes would always reflect an Asian touch, and what are the chances of AG making any more half-Asian dolls anytime soon.

The Jess face will most likely be used again excepting for the eyes. I'm betting that the eyes will be changed.

So, Jess could end up being the only doll in AG history with a face mold specific to one doll only.

    Just a thought of mine.

Well, then I'll buy a couple for future gain.

I actually hope that they use her face mold--eyes and all--again. Or use those eyes on another facemold. I don't think that they are that unusual. My dh gets very almond shaped eyes from his mom. His eyes are blue and there is no Asian blood in his line.

Jenndon: Do you think Jess would look Asian at all if she had say blue eyes and short blond hair? Maybe she wouldn't. At first I didn't even think she looked Asian, but now that I've seen her in Imagestation albums from various angles and through different eyes, I really do see her Asian roots.

I think the possibility of a truly unique face mold could make Jess the most unique of all AG's, LE and non-LE. The prospect certainly makes me think about purchasing more than just one for my own collection one day. On the other hand, I do believe that the AGOT line is long overdue for another Asian girl. Perhaps we'll see a new one this year with the exact same face mold but short hair.

Regardless of face mold issues, I still predict she will be the highest selling LE ever.

Do we even know who of the three prior LEs has been the highest selling?

perhaps if I save enough, after I get Kirsten, I'll buy Jess. I'm not sure yet though.

I think you make a very good point. I also think Jess will be one of, if not the most sought after LE.

I do think, though, that her face mold could be used for other dolls, without coming across as asian. I suspect her mold was made the way it is, for that purpose.

My DD has very almond shaped eyes, as does her GM, DH's mom. Both of them have dark, dark brown eyes...almost black. And neither one of them looks asian.

    Here's her picture:

The more almond shaped eyes are also perfect for friends of Kaya or Kirsten, and I also find the face well suited for bangs, so I definitely don't think this'll be the last we'll see of that mold.

I do think that Jess looks half-Asian, knowing that is her heritage, but I do think that eyes shaped like hers--almond, but not as much so as some Asians--are very common. So I think that they could use that eye shape on a very Caucasian looking doll and she wouldn't look Asian.

I guess the Jess mold will probably be used again, same eyes and all. It is such a lovely mold that I really hope they do.

I've been taking a really close look at my AGOT #4 and trying to figure how her eyes are different from Jess's. It's kind of hard to do when I only have one of the dolls in hand. Maybe AGOT #4 is more Asian-specific in face because her almond-shaped eyes are ever so slightly tipped up (???).

I also got to thinking that AGOT #4 is in fact the only face mold specific to this one doll. I really wish AG would introduce another AGOT with #4's face mold but with shorter hair and no bangs and a slightly different skin tone.

Also, Jenny, your daughter has exceptionally beautiful almond-shaped eyes!! What a lovely picture!
